Abstract :
Abstract: In our country, where the young generation of athletes constitutes a high percentage of the population, environmental education can have a significant effect on strengthening environmental culture and achieving sustainable development goals. The purpose of the present study is to provide a model of the effectiveness of environmental and health teachings on the citizenship behavior of athletes in Semnan province. This research is of applied type in terms of outputs and descriptive-analytical in terms of data review method. The statistical research community of athletes in Semnan Province is the pilot of the research. The research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire, whose validity and reliability have been accepted. Structural equation modeling was used to design the model. The results showed that the teachings of environmental and health teachings on the citizenship behavior of athletes is effective and the model has sufficient and favorable fit. Therefore, despite the existence of awareness and a relatively appropriate attitude towards the environment, the majority of people have performed poorly in terms of environmental behavior. Therefore, having environmental awareness cannot be a guarantee for environmental behavior, but in the meantime, there is a need for conditions and social structure that encourage and facilitate environmental behavior.
