The relationship between Family Functioning and Quality of School Life with the mediating role of Academic self-efficacy in students

Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between familyfunctioning and quality of school life with the mediating role of academic selfefficacyin secondary school students. The research applied in terms of purpose andmethod was descriptive, correlational one. The statistical population of this studyincluded students of at the Secondary school of Neka. The statistical samplewas participants that determined by the using Krejcy and Morgan table, andselected by stratified random sampling according to gender. Data were gathered byusing three Questionnaires of Epstein et al family functioning ( ), Williams &Batten quality of school life questionnaire ( ) and Jinks, & Morgan academicself-efficacy questionnaire ( ). Their reliability was calculated to , andrespectively by the use of Cronbach Alpha. The collected data was used foranalyzed by Structural equation modeling using the partial least squares method(PLS). The results of this study showed that there is a significant relationshipbetween family functioning and quality of school life with academic self-efficacy.of academic self-efficacy and of quality of school life is explained byfamily functioning. And the academic self-efficacy variable has a mediator effect onthe relationship between family functioning and quality of school life. Fit indicesindicate that the proposed model is an appropriate fit.
