Abstract :
This study aims to compare the effectiveness of educational package based on differentiated communication patterns of women with Emotional Focused Therapy on distress tolerance among married women. The method of study was a quasi-experimental type with a pretest-posttest design with a control group and a one-month follow-up. The statistical society comprises all married women referring to healthcare centers of Karaj City during the interval of the first half of June to the end of August 2022; 52 members entered the study based on the convenience method, and then were randomly assigned to two test groups and one control group. Research tools included Differentiation of Self-Inventory (DSI, Skowron & Dendy, 2004) and Distress Tolerance Scale (DTS, Simons & Gaher, 2005). The first and second test groups received training within 10 sessions of interventions from a training package based on the communicational patterns of differentiated women and emotion-oriented therapy. The control group received no intervention. The research data were analyzed through Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and frequent measurement using SPSS 25 Software. The results showed that both training packages formulated based on the communicational patterns of differentiated women and emotion-oriented therapy effectively increased the distress tolerance of married women(P<0.01). No significant difference existed between the two test groups (P>0.05). the results showed that training-intervention packages based on the communicational patterns of differentiated women and emotion-centered therapy are two effective methods for increasing distress tolerance among married women; consultants and therapists in the couple and family field can use these two methods in training-intervention sessions.
