Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy intervention integrated with mindfulness (MiCBT) and compassion therapy on the empowerment and emotional regulation of women heads of households. The research method was semi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design and follow-up with a control group. The statistical population of the present study included all female heads of households covered by the welfare of Kerman city in 2024. The sample size includes 45 people from the statistical population selected by available sampling method and placed in experimental and control groups. For the first experimental group, MiCBT was implemented during 8 sessions of 60 minutes during four weeks, and for the second experimental group, compassion therapy was implemented during 8 sessions of 60 minutes during four weeks, While the control group did not receive training. The research tools included the Psychological empowerment Scale (Spreitzer, 1995) and the Cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire (Garnefski and Kraaij, 2006). The data was analyzed using the analysis of variance test with repeated measurements. The results showed that MiCBT and compassion therapy has an effect on empowerment and emotional regulation (p<0.05). Also, the results of the follow-up test showed that there is no significant difference between the two treatment methods on empowerment and emotional regulation (p>0.05). Based on the results of the research, psychologists and psychiatrists can use these interventions to improve the empowerment and emotional regulation of female heads of households.
