The Effectiveness of Attachment-Based Therapy for Indigestion and Illness Anxiety in Patients with Indigestion

Abstract :
Abstract The aim of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of attachment-based therapy on indigestion and illness Anxiety. The study was experimental pre-test-post-test with a control group. The statistical population included patients with indigestion and illness Anxiety in the Khatam ol Anbia hospital in 1400-1401, who received the diagnosis of indigestion by a gastroenterologist, and among them, 30 people (15 people in the experimental group and 15 people in the control group) were random through sampling were selected randomly and Experimental group received 12 weeks of metallization based attachment therapy and During this period, the control group did not receive any intervention. The tools used in this research included the severity of gastrointestinal symptoms questionnaire of Revicki et al (1998) and the illness anxiety questionnaire of Salkoskis et al. 2002. Data using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (analysis of covariance) were analyzed. The results obtained from the post-test comparison of the two groups showed that there is a significant difference in the post-test scores of indigestion and illness anxiety in the experimental and control groups. The research results showed that attachment-based therapy reduced of indigestion and illness anxiety in patients with indigestion. Based on the findings of the research, regarding to the treatment of attachment disorders can effect of indigestion and illness anxiety.
