Abstract :
The present article seeks to study and analyze the Typo Morphology of the Ancient Market of Khorramabad City. These studies reveal both the Morphological type and the physical and Spatial Structure of cities. For this purpose and in the first step, the concept of the Market and its role-playing in the Islamic city has been dealt with. The Methodology of this research is Descriptive-Analytical and based on documentary-library studies. Findings show that the Ancient Market of Khorramabad City is different from other Markets in the country and other elements of the Market are not associated with the order and pattern that exists in other Islamic cities. Also, in the Pahlavi Period, with the new streets, the historical structure of the Market was practically torn apart. At present, the old market of Khorramabad has maintained its function, and the row of Borujerdi, Hafez Street, and around Gap Square, etc., are still the heart of the market of this city, attracting crowds and activities, but the function of the old Khorramabad Caravanserai located in the southwest of the square Gap has changed to gold sellers' market and until today it is more important than other gold and jewelry markets in the city. Due to the Special Morphology of the City, most of the Urban Traffic flows in the city center area, and the entry of cars into the central streets of the city and the Market can cause the Marginalization of the Old market and its lack of Identity in the Future.
