The effectiveness of the clinical model of therapeutic creativity on reducing anxiety and depression in male students of the first secondary school in Najaf Abad city

Abstract :
Target; The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of the clinical model of creativity therapy on reducing anxiety and depression in male students of the first secondary school. Method; The statistical population of the research included all male students of the first secondary school in Najafabad city, in the academic year of 2017-2018. From this population, 30 people were selected by available and targeted sampling and then assigned to two experimental (15 people) and control (15 people) groups. Tool; Beck's anxiety and depression questionnaires (1998) were administered to all participants as a pre-test. Then the participants in the experimental group were subjected to 8 sessions of the clinical model of creativity therapy, while the control group did not receive any intervention. The aforementioned questionnaires were administered again on both groups as a post-test. findings; The findings of the research were analyzed using ANCOVA and MANCOVA analysis of covariance. The results of MANCOVA analysis showed that after adjusting the pre-test covariance effect, there is a significant difference between the mean post-test anxiety and depression scores in the experimental and control groups (F=7.93, P<0.01). Also, the ANOVA analysis results showed that there is a significant difference between the mean post-test scores of anxiety (F=8.06, P<0.01) and depression (F=11.79, P<0.01) in the two experimental and control groups. Conclusion; According to these results, the clinical model of therapeutic creativity has a significant effect in reducing the anxiety and depression of male students of the first secondary school. In fact, creativity is a kind of mental efficiency that can moderate the ineffective mentality and reduce anxiety and depression in students.
