Abstract :
Objective: The aim of present study was to investigate the relationship between personality characteristics (factor 5) and emotional intelligence with life satisfaction in male and female students living in the residence Shahydchamran University of Ahvaz.Methods: In this study 80 male and female students living in the residence Shahydchamran University of Ahvaz that selected by available method and completed questionnaires measuring personality traits, emotional intelligence and life satisfaction.Finding: The results indicated that the relationship between the predictor variables with the criterion variable is life satisfaction . Research findings showed that students who have higher emotional intelligence , greater life satisfaction . Students with low neuroticism , high extraversion , high openness , high agreeableness and Conscientiousness have higher life satisfaction . The highest correlation coefficient was related to neuroticism, the most important predictive variable in this study. Regression coefficients for linear combination of variables using multiple entry characteristics and emotional intelligence and life satisfaction levels of less than 0/05 was significant.Conclusions: The Present result support of the relationship between personality characteristics and emotional intelligence with life satisfaction in students.
