Abstract :

purpose: The aim of  present research was to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the use of Information technology in libraries of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adult Ahwaz city. Methodology: The descriptive survey is used.Three questionnaires were prepared for managers, employees and members of the library. For Analysis of Results Descriptive statistics and SPSS 18 Software were used. Findings: The amount of using information technology is in the lowest rate. Librarians declared that the major problem  in using information technology in libraries, are inadequate facilities and in adequate training. Conclusion: 18.28 of employees declared the important  priority barriers to use information technology was the loss of plan specifically for job training. Priority services client was online search services with an average of 111.70. The most important problem of the patrons was inadequate resources find  with an average of 92.83 is.
