Investigating and evaluating the performance of urban management on the quality of life of citizens (case study of Dezful city)

Abstract :
Abstract The human desire throughout history has always been to have a good quality of life, and on the other hand, the most important goal of urban development and management is to improve the quality of life and happiness of citizens; The purpose of this research is to investigate and evaluate the impact of urban management on the quality of life from the perspective of the citizens of Dezful city. The research method in this study is descriptive-analytical, which was used to collect information from library and field sources. The statistical population of the research consists of the citizens of Dezful city, based on the population of 2020 equal to 280,591 people; 400 of them were selected through the Lin and Demorgan table and stratified random sampling method. The tool for collecting information in this research is a researcher-made questionnaire, whose validity was confirmed in a formal way (validation by experts and specialists) and Cronbach's alpha reliability was confirmed as (0.834). The results and findings of the research from data analysis with the help of spss statistical software showed that there is a significant relationship between the performance of urban management and the quality of life of citizens at the rate of 0.359; Also, there is a significant relationship between urban management indicators (urban-physical (0.281), social-cultural (0.161), intra-organizational (0.232) and the quality of life of citizens of Dezful city. The results of the multivariate regression test also indicate that urban management indicators have been effective in improving the quality of life of the citizens of Dezful by 13.8%; Also, the findings of the research show that the average level of satisfaction with the intra-organizational index of urban management is relatively weak (2.281) from the point of view of the residents of Dezful city. The effect of socio-cultural index in improving the quality of life of citizens is reversed (-0.139) and on the other hand, the functional status of this index is equal to 2.512, which is considered an inappropriate situation.
