The effect of emotional center couple therapy on marital expectations in couples with marital conflicts

Abstract :
This research aimed to determine the effect of emotional center couple therapy on marital expectations in couples with marital conflicts. Present study was a semi-experimental with a pre-test and post-test design with control group. Research population was couples with the marital conflicts that referring to counseling centers of first region of three district of Karaj city in 2017 year. Totally 30 couple were selected by available sampling method and randomly assigned to two equal groups (each group 15 couple). The intervention group trained 10 sessions of 90 minutes (weekly two sessions) by the method of emotional center couple therapy and the control group was placed on the waiting list for training. Data were collected with using the Omidvar & et al' marital expectations questionnaire and analyzed by the multivariate analysis of covariance method. The result showed that the emotional center couple therapy method led to significant improve the expectation of spouse as a friend and supporter, expectation of marital life and expectation of ideal relationship in couples with marital conflicts (P
