Abstract :
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and psychological capital with job burnout among female high school teachers. The study method was descriptive with correlational design. The study population included all high school and middle school teachers in Saveh, Iran (N=220) were taught in the academic year 94-95. Using Krejcie & Morgan Table (1970), 136 female high school teachers were selected through stratified multi-stage sampling. The respondents completed the Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (shot), Luthans Psychological Capital Scale and Maslach Job Burnout Inventory. The data were analyzed using Pearson Correlation and Stepwise Multiple-Regression Analysis in SPSS 18 Software. The results revealed that there is significant inverse relationship between components of emotional intelligence and psychological capital with job burnout among teachers. The result of stepwise regression showed that self-efficacy, resilience and emotional expression evaluation can predict job burnout among teachers. The findings imply that improving emotional intelligence and psychological capital can lead to reduced employment problems resulting in burnout teachers.
