Abstract :
Political economy deals with the interaction of economics and politics, in which, ultimately, a political agenda is provided for the economy. From this point of view in contemporary times, various efforts have been made by Iran for sustainable development and several development plans have been written, but what is observed in practice not only does not have development, but has also been added to the country's problems. While explaining why, many factors may be involved, but since the Islamic Republic of Iran is considered as one of the developing countries, one can not overlook the special role of the government in development or inadequate development. Therefore, the present study, aimed at the pathology of non-development of Iran, presents the main question of how can Iran's failure to achieve sustainable development be assessed? In response to the above question, the research hypothesis states that the lack of attention to good governance indicators and in accordance with it, the low quality governance in Iran is one of the important factors that can contribute to this failure. The research method used in this research is descriptive-analytic and its framework is based on a library-based political economy.
