Abstract :
For several decades, Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran have been prominent as two regional powers in the Middle East; Even in the period before the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the United States based its security policies in the Middle East on the basis of the capabilities and policies of these two countries. However, the conflict of political approaches, different interests, alliances and commitments, and conflicting views on international issues, made these two countries face each other as two rivals from the very early years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in most periods, and with all the and political vicissitudes, finally, during the era of Ebrahim Raisi, new developments have taken place between the two countries, which have led to the loss of communication and the reopening of diplomatic relations. What are the interests of the Saudi government in reestablishing relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran? In response to the above question, the hypothesis was raised that neighborhood development policy, energy security; De-escalation and regional security are among the most important interests of the Saudi government in reestablishing relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
