Abstract :

Political development in 21st century Turkey is linked with the formation of the Justice and Development Party in 2002 and Erdogan's prime ministership in 2003. Through the lens of Erdogan's political psychology, we come to the conclusion that he initially wanted to create a platform for political development, which continued with the events of the years after 2011 and especially 2016, but this path was slowed down but not stopped. until before that; The Republic of Turkey witnessed some ups and downs in adapting the social structure to the institution of power, but Erdogan was able to cover this gap. Erdoğan's personality and psychological characteristics have played a direct role in his leadership style, which can be examined from the perspective of political psychology paradigms. Contrary to some criticisms, Erdoğan has not only created a political blockade in Turkey, but has also forced various currents to take political action to confront him. In this article, Edward Shils' theory of supported democracy is used, which overlaps with Erdogan's category of political psychology. So; The role of the government in the political development process of Turkey in the era of justice and development will be examined and analyzed according to Erdogan's political psychology. This research follows a descriptive-analytical method. Using this method, we seek to analyze the indicators of political development according to Shiles in the Ak Party discourse and Erdogan's political behavior.
