A Study of the Main Elements of the Themes in Children’s Poems in the Eighties

Mir The study of the themes in children’s poems is one way to find out what poetic theme aspects the poets of every era were interested in. the results can contribute to the analysis of the effective factors. The present article studies the poems printed in the eighties (Iranian calendar). The concepts studied include naturalism, socio-political issues, entertainment, religion, science, education, and ethics. The most frequent concept was naturalism (37.9%) and the least frequent was ethics (2.7%). The most frequent topic in the poems focused on nature was the animals (42.3%) and the least frequent topic was day and night (2.8%). Further studies are required to study why there are few poems on the topics of education and ethics and why naturalism and socio-political issues are very prevalent.
