Abstract :
This study aims to present a model of managers' emotional intelligence in terms of its impact on the organizational behavior of employees of the National Bank of Iran's branches in Tehran. The research is applied in nature and, from a philosophical standpoint, is grounded in pragmatism. Methodologically, it follows an inductive approach and employs a mixed-methods research strategy. Participants in the qualitative phase included experts—namely university professors and senior human resource managers in governmental organizations—who were selected purposively using the snowball sampling technique. Thematic analysis was used to interpret the qualitative data. In the quantitative phase, the statistical population consisted of all employees of Bank Melli branches in Tehran (20,439 individuals), from which a sample of 377 was selected using Cochran’s formula for finite populations. Data were gathered by self-administered questionnaire. After confirming the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, the structural equation modeling technique and SPSS and LISREL software were used to test the hypotheses. According to the results obtained, it was found that all dimensions of emotional intelligence, including empathy, motivation, social skills, self-regulation, and self-awareness, have a positive and significant effect on all three variables of commitment, organizational justice, and employee citizenship behavior.
