Abstract :

This research investigated the self-awareness of the main character of the novel I turn off the lights. Its purpose is to identify the main character's hidden area through the ink window. One of the most interesting and interesting patterns in depicting human behavior is the Johari window. This name is taken from the first names of the two psychologists "Joseph Luft" and "Harry Ingham" who designed the model. This research also showed that what are the characteristics related to the hidden self in Clarice's personality? The method used is descriptive-analytical research. This analysis explains the concept of the real self with a substantial window. The results showed that in the novel I turn off the lights, the main character performs self-discovery, which is identified with the most dominant area of the hidden self in his essence window, which includes dealing with the inner sense. By analyzing the hidden self, it was found that the hidden self is related to conservatism in the expression of love, ambiguity and the defense mechanism of suppression or suppression.
