Analysis of the social and political status of women in Persian school books

Abstract :
Considering the fact that half of proportion of a society are women, their positions in new researches has a worthy application. The method of this research is content analyzing and it’s unit is row. Its’ statistical population is the rows of Persian textbooks of all twelve grades which is equal with its’ sample. The goal of this research is to explore different social and political positions of women in all rows of Persian books, ratio of these components to each other and comparing different educational courses considering dealing with these positions. According to the goals and hypothesis, all the data were measured and evaluated with SPSS software. After classifying the data in open codes, the amount of these components in Persian textbooks was determined, and all these components were evaluated in relation to each other. According to the results of this research , the total number of the lines of the books with content about women was, 3.68 in elementary school, 3.92 in first high school and, 3.35 in second high school which among these components, the largest component is specific to women as mothers and family members. The political positions in all the books are very insignificant, and special political, managerial and occupational positions for women are not observed, and these positions are only limited to female martyrs, women supporters of the revolution. In an overall investigation, among the all of 12808 lines of all textbooks ,only 3.51% of it are about women.
