Abstract :
The present study was conducted with the aim of knowing the attitude of Iranian women towards the concept of freedom. The research was based on a mixed approach with thematic analysis and survey methods. The statistical population of women was 17 to 50 years old. The sample size was 205 people in the qualitative section and 1227 samples in the quantitative section until data sufficiency was reached. Interview and questionnaire tools were selected, reliability was done through agreement test between coders. Validity is content type and criterion, reliability is measured with Cronbach's alpha. Civil freedom was the most important common concern of women when looking at the concept of freedom in both groups. Its sub-themes were "revision of hijab laws, security, and establishing justice" respectively, individual freedom with the most sub-theme in the next step was "freedom to choose clothing". The view of individual freedom was different in two age groups. The effect of religiosity on individual and civil freedom was higher in the group over 30 years old, religiosity was higher on individual freedom in both groups. Marital status had an inverse effect on individual freedom in both groups. The effect of education in both groups on direct personal freedom, and in people over 30 years of age on civil freedom showed the greatest effect. What is evident and worthy of consideration in the results is that women's view of the concept of freedom is more of a civil concern than an individual one.
