Abstract :
The purpose of the current research is to represent female heads of the household in Iranian cinema with an emphasis on the films of the 80s and 90s. In this regard, an effort has been made to use the qualitative content analysis method of eight movies, including Here Without Me, Nahid, It Happened at Midnight, Shenal, Mim Like a Mother, Gilaneh, Shiyar 143, and Villai, which were selected by sampling method. were purposefully selected to be analyzed. The results of this research indicate that the representation of women heads of households can be divided and classified into three main categories (insights of women heads of households, tendencies of women heads of households and actions of women heads of households). In the perspective of female heads of household, there are points of view such as patriotic and religious views, in the category of tendency of female heads of household, approaches such as authoritarian, independence-seeking, collectivist, introverted, loving, hopeless, forward-looking, realist, Dreaming, traditionalism, modernism, and in the category of the actions of women heads of the household, activities such as educational, artistic and occupational activities are some of the things that were investigated. Based on the findings of this research, it can be said that responsibility, self-sufficiency and being strong are the common characteristics of all female heads of the household. Despite the physical problems caused by the double work, the female heads of the household do not spare any effort in order to continue life
