Abstract :
Nowadays, more than 60% of people of the world live in cities. In this regard, the neighborhood development method can determine the success or failure of the society and on a macro scale and sustainable development in cities against solving economic, environmental, social and physical problems, etc. With the importance of this issue, the present research has been compiled with the main purpose of measuring the sustainability of urban areas in Meybod and it is a city in the north of Yazd province. The type of research is applied it is with a descriptive-analytical approach and statistical information has been collected through documentary and field study. The statistical population of the research consists of 18 neighborhoods in the city Meybod and has been used from factor analysis test and human development composite index to analyze the information. The results of the research show that these factors were identified as sustainable neighborhoods: In terms of biological-physical factors, Meybod topand Aliabad neighborhoods, In terms of the bio-economic factor of Firozabad neighborhood, In terms of biological and social factor of Shahidieh neighborhood, In terms of the physical-economic factor of Mehrjard neighborhood, In terms of the physical-cultural factor of Beshnighan neighborhood and in terms of the social-institutional factor of the small and bideh neighborhood. It also shows the results the neighborhood of Imam Jafar Sadiq (neighborhood 11/1) has been identified as the most stable neighborhood in the city and based on the combination of 6 factors in the composite index of human development. Based on the research results the degree of instability of neighborhoods in Meibod city is equal to 55.54 percent and the dispersion coefficient was equal to 0.87 which shows the intensity of neighborhood inequality in achieving sustainability indicators.
