Studying and Comparing the Function of Normal Families and Families Seeking Divorce

Abstract :
This research was done in order to investigate and compare the function of normal families and those who are seeking divorce. Descriptive method was used for this research. To do this, initially the population was divided into two parts: populations of normal families and populations of families who are seeking divorce. The population consisted of one hundred normal families and fifty divorced families. The sample of normal families was chosen randomly and the sample of divorced families was chosen by means of accessible and census sampling methods. Then the Family assessment device (FAD) was implemented for all of them. The Collected data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics methods (table, mean, percent and t-test). The results indicated significant differences between The two groups on significant level P≤0/01 in These constructs: general function, communication, roles, affective responsiveness, affective involvement and behavioral control; and The mean score of families looking for divorce in each construct is more than The means of normal families group This means that families seeking divorce have more dysfunctional performance than normal families.
