Abstract :

The purpose of the present research was to investigate the effectiveness of group counseling based on Lazarus multimodal approach on mothers’ communication with their adolescent daughters. The research procedure was quasi - experimental with pretest - posttest and control group design. The population of this study was all the mothers of middle high school female students in Takestan Province. The sample group consisted of 22 females (11 females in control group and 11 females in experimental group) who were  chosen via cluster multistage random  sampling method and were randomly assigned into experimental and control groups. The measurement  tool was "Parent – Child Relationship survey (PCRS)". The data were analyzed by ANCOVA (analysis of covariance). The results showed that there is a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in positive affection, identification and communication (P<0.05), but there is not a significant difference between experimental and control groups in resentment / role confusion.
