Causal relationship of tendency to cosmetic surgery based on addiction to social networks and psychopathology with the mediation of self-esteem in women of Ahvaz city

Abstract :

Today, considering the necessity of cosmetic surgery category and its effects on people's personal and social lives, especially women. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of investigating cosmetic surgery based on addiction to social networks and psychopathology with the mediation of self-esteem in women of Ahvaz city, Khuzestan province. The current research is applied in terms of purpose, and in terms of the amount and degree of control, it is field, and in terms of the method of data collection, it is a descriptive (non-experimental) type of research, and according to the research design, it is a correlational type. Sampling method is available, for this purpose,on 200 women who visited beauty clinics in Ahvaz between 1401 and 1402. The instrument used is a structured questionnaire, including Etamadi Far and Amani's cosmetic surgery tendency questionnaire (2012), Ejendon et al.'s (2016) addiction questionnaire to social networks, psychopathology questionnaire (R-90-SCL) and self-esteem questionnaire. It was Rosenberg's self (1965) whose formal and content validity was confirmed by experts and its reliability according to past studies and Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Data analysis was done with AMOS and SPSS software. The results of fit indices PCFI=0.543, PNFI=0.693, CMIN/DF=2.08, RMSEA=0.071, IFI=0.793, CFI=0.804 and GFI=0.804 indicate a good fit of the model. It is a proposal with data. Also, the analysis of the hypotheses showed that there is a direct relationship between addiction to social networks and self-esteem, and an indirect and significant relationship with the tendency to cosmetic surgery in the studied women.
