Examining Fear of Missing Out Syndrome Model Based on Cultural Capital and Social Self -Esteem with Mediation of Life- Satisfaction in Female Teenagers

Abstract :

The present study intended to examine the fear of missing out syndrome model based on cultural capital and social self-esteem with mediation of life- satisfaction   in female teenagers. The statistical population encompassed all the 15 years old teenagers in Ahwaz metropolitan. The sample embraced 259 subjects whom were selected via convenient sampling procedure of the mentioned population. The research was descriptive and correlational of path analysis. Data were collected by implementing Przybylski (2013) FoMO Questionnaire, Cultural Capital Questionnaire of Bourdieu (1986), Cooper Smith (1967) Self- Esteem Inventory and Diener et al. (1985) Subjective Well-Being Scale.   The data were analyzed by utilizing the version 27 of SPSS and AMOS software. The results indicated that there was a significant correlation between cultural capital, social self-esteem and life- satisfaction with fear of missing out syndrome. The results also revealed that there was a significant indirect correlation between cultural capital and social self-esteem with fear of missing out syndrome via life- satisfaction mediation   in female teenagers. The model showed a proper goodness of fit too.
