Abstract :
The present study investigates a double-fluid volumetric based parabolic trough solar receiver. The control volume approach is used to solve the system of classical single phase governing equations by using the finite volume method. The standard k–ε turbulence model with enhanced wall function is selected. According to obtained results, the value of efficiency of Conventional-Parabolic-Through-Solar-Collectors (CPTSCs) and Novel-Parabolic-Through-Solar-Collectors (NPTSCs) reduces by increasing of inlet temperature of base fluid and therefore, there is an optimum inlet temperature for all configurations and it is equal to 40°C.
