Effects of Adaptive Front- Lighting technology of vehicles headlight on safety improvement

Abstract :
Vehicle safety is one of the most important concerns in vehicle industry. Night time accidents are a big risk for vehicle occupancies. According to the global statistics, only 25% of driving is in night, while in Europe, 55% of accidents are occurred in night time. This is 44% for the United States. Driver sight is the most important. So, appropriate lighting in the night can solve the problem of night time accidents. Because of the type of design and connection to vehicle, Old traditional lighting used in current vehicles, have limited performance. Until 90’s century, halogen headlamps were used. In 90’s century, xenon headlamps were used in place of halogen headlamps. For eliminate limitations of these lighting systems, Adaptive Front- Lighting system is used. In this paper, different technologies utilizes in vehicle lighting systems including halogen and xenon headlamps, LED technology in vehicle lighting system and Adaptive Front- Lighting system is studied.
