Abstract :
In this article, waste heat recovery from a PEM fuel cell using of thermoelectric generators has been experimentally evaluated. An experimental setup has been constructed which consists of a heat exchanger, thermoelectric modules and heat sink with built-in temperature sensors. The setup is evaluated under operating conditions of a 5 kW PEM fuel cell. The results of the experimental setup shows that use of thermoelectric generators can be a good strategy for the recovery of waste heat from PEM fuel cells. For this purpose, the design of the heat exchanger in the hot and cold side of the thermoelectric are very important.
