Investigating the socio-economic factors related to the tendency of elites to migrate and its effects on urban underdevelopment

Abstract :
Migration is the movement of individuals or groups that results in a permanent or long-term change of a person's usual residence. The main purpose of this study was to determine the socio-economic factors related to the tendency of elites to migrate and its effects on urban underdevelopment. This research was applied in terms of purpose and method. The statistical population of all faculty members of Islamic Azad University, Tabriz Branch and the sample size was determined using Cochran's formula of 145 people. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between having social status, life satisfaction, having scientific-professional facilities, discrimination in society, job satisfaction, desire to improve income and the tendency of elites to emigrate. If the process and pace of migration proceeds according to this situation, it will have negative social and economic consequences for the country.
