A Sociological Study of the Relationship between Social Capital and Social Health (Case Study of Five Students of Tehran Region)

Abstract :
the present article is entitled "Sociological study of the relationship between social capital and social health" with the aim of examining the impact of social capital on the social health of students in district five of Tehran. This is a survey research. The statistical population of the study consisted of all elementary and high school students in the fifth district of Tehran. A sample size of 250 students was selected by cluster sampling. Data gathering tool is a researcher-made social capital questionnaire and a Likert-type social health standard. In this study the reliability of social capital variable was 0.85 and social health was 0.81. The data were analyzed using SPSS software and Pearson correlation coefficient. The findings of the study showed that the amount of social capital and social health of students in district 5 of Tehran were below average. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between social capital and its dimensions (structural social capital and cognitive social capital) with social health. The results of multivariate regression analysis showed that 31% of social health variance can be explained by social capital.
