Digital technology technology on the concept of originality in contemporary architectural design

Abstract :
Over the past decades, digital technologies have played a pivotal role in transforming architectural design processes, leading to a significant impact on the notion of authenticity in architecture. This study investigates how the use of digital tools influences the concept of authenticity in contemporary architectural design.
To begin, the research outlines the historical background and evolution of digital technologies in architecture, followed by an analysis of their relationship to the principles of architectural authenticity. In particular, three-dimensional design software and data modeling tools have enabled architects to represent architectural forms with unprecedented accuracy. .
Nevertheless, the findings of this research highlight that digital technologies can serve as a platform for redefining and enhancing the concept of authenticity. For example, digital techniques can facilitate more precise preservation and restoration of historical and traditional architectural works. Furthermore, digital tools open the door to new and dynamic architectural languages, in which authenticity is no longer synonymous with mere imitation of the past, but instead emerges as a continual, adaptive process in dialogue with digital innovation.this paper evaluates the outcomes of these changes and addresses the question of whether digital technology can move beyond being a threat and instead become an instrument for elevating authenticity in contemporary architectural design. Drawing on case studies, expert interviews, and theoretical analysis, the research concludes that, when used with awareness and care, digital technologies can effectively preserve and revitalize architectural authenticity in innovative formats. As such, they can foster a stronger architectural identity within the contemporary world.
