Cultural, religious and administrative policies effective in prevention on crimes and reducing the prison population

Abstract :

To prevent crime, it is crucial to focus on public culture and strengthen influential cultural institutions. Organizations such as broadcasting networks, the press, media professionals, the virtual space, and the artistic community can significantly impact social decision-making, norm-setting, and modeling behaviors. These institutions play a vital role in crime prevention by enlightening public opinion, producing suitable content, and providing warnings regarding unethical and cultural issues. The aim of this research is to clarify effective cultural, religious, and administrative policies that can help prevent crimes and, consequently, reduce prison populations. This article employs a descriptive-analytical method and relies on library resources, categorizing it as theoretical research. Findings suggest that raising cultural awareness can eliminate ignorance of legal rules and regulations. This awareness acts as a crucial tool for enhancing public consciousness, which is essential for effective crime prevention. To address prison overcrowding and reduce recidivism, it is necessary to develop strategic plans in three distinct phases: before a crime occurs, after a crime has occurred, and following the execution of a sentence. In each of these stages, effective strategies must be proposed and implemented, allowing for the observation of positive changes in offenders' behaviors and ethical reforms. Moreover, fostering a collaborative environment among various social institutions and the community can significantly enhance social responsibility. By promoting shared values and norms, we can create a culture that discourages criminal behavior. Ultimately, this comprehensive approach aims to build a safer, more informed society, contributing to a significant reduction in crime rates and improving the overall quality of life for all citizens.
