Abstract :
Introduction: One of the capabilities of spatial planning is to identify the environmental and physical capacities of each region for the purpose of tourism development. Since tourism is related to many sectors of society and can have different consequences, it requires an appropriate planning model that considers all aspects and has a complete approach to developing rural areas with a tourism approach.
Research Objective: The present study aims to present a spatial planning model for the development of rural tourism in Jarghoyeh County. First, a questionnaire with a Likert scale and three criteria of human activities, distribution of services and environmental capacities was designed and completed by three groups of experts, tourists and residents. A one-sample t-test was used to assess the conditions of each village, a Friedman test was used to rank the criteria and villages, and an analysis of variance was used to compare the villages with each other. The geographical territory of this study is the rural settlements of Lahijan County.
Findings and Discussion: According to studies, from the perspective of tourists, all three criteria are above the acceptable limit and far from the desirable limit. From the perspective of experts and local residents, all three criteria are far from both the acceptable and desirable limits. Comparing the average dimensions showed that from the perspective of tourists, the environmental capacity criterion, from the perspective of experts, the service distribution criterion, and from the perspective of local residents, the human activities criterion are of the greatest importance. From the perspective of all three groups, the behavior of local people with tourists, welfare, health, infrastructure facilities, and attention to the village environment are of the greatest importance to them.
Conclusion: The results showed that the combined model and the participatory model are applicable for tourism spatial planning in Jarghoye County. In these models, through organizing tours and entertaining programs for tourists and the participation of villages together in organizing various ceremonies and occasions for tourists, they can attract more tourists.
