Measure citizen satisfaction with the performance of the investments and contributions (Case Study: District 6 of Tehran )

Abstract :
Identifying the needs of the people and the knowledge of their demands have a decisive role in determining the managerial priorities and effective urban management system. Comprehensive and sustainable management of city will be fulfilled when the citizens are satisfied with the performance of the municipality. Because the citizens' satisfaction with the performance of the organizations is a major factor in continuous improvement process in order to increase efficiency and quality of urban management. Individual’s satisfaction with the organization depends on his perception of the performance of that organization, citizens’ awareness and various factors. In this study, the citizens’ satisfaction with the performance of investment organization and public participation in the 6th district of Tehran and its affecting factors are investigated with descriptive - analytical research method. Data were collected through questionnaires with a sample of 384 people and analyzed using suitable tests in SPSS software. The results show that the citizens' satisfaction with investment organization and public participation are not in a good condition. According to the results, there is a positive and significant relationship between variables of citizens’ awareness and age with citizens’ satisfaction, but the relationship between literacy and satisfaction is significant and negative, in other words, increased literacy rate, decreases satisfaction. According to the results, there is a significant relationship between gender and satisfaction, and women’s correlation with satisfaction variable is more than men. Citizens' awareness of their rights and obligations is low. About 70 percent of citizens consider the media's role in promoting citizen participation an effective strategy. There is a positive significant relationship between the citizens’ awareness and the dependent variable of education, higher education level increases knowledge proportionally.
