Analysis of aquaculture production in Iran and it's compatibility with aquaculture vision over the years of 2000-2009

Abstract :

Present study was conducted to analyze aquaculture activity for ten years during the 3rd and 4th Iran development plans. Utilized method for data collection and analysis in this research classified under “constructive research”. The study period and data collection consisted of published reports by aquaculture department of Iranian fisheries organization between 2000-2009 using a questionnaire form analyzed by SWOT matrix (matrix of qualitative and quantitative). Results showed that the reached goal in aquaculture acidities were 61% and 85% during 3rd and 4th plans, respectively. The achievement in the sturgeon farming was not detectable during the 3th development plan and with scarce activity (0.2% in 2010) during the 4th development plan. Based on the 4th development plan from 1510 tones as the predicated production, only 24% was reached in case of sturgeon farming.
