Construct and finding factors of social skills questionnaire in primary school students in the viewpoint of teachers based on Islamic teachings

Abstract :
Abstract Aim: The purpose of this study was to construct and finding factors of social skills questionnaire in primary school students in the viewpoint of teachers based on Islamic teachings. Methodology: 120 teachers of elementary schools from fourth to sixth grade, in Damavand city in 1394 were selected via the available sampling. Social skills questionnaire based on Islamic teachings was made on these categories: communication with god, thoughtfulness, persistence in rightful centric , communicative skills, religious coping, self-control, interaction with environment. Participants completed the questionnaire of social skills. Results: Exploratory factor analysis with varimax rotation based on principal components analysis, identified four factors: the communication skills (15 items), good manners (with 10 items), thoughtfulness (9 items), and trying to change the conditions (6 items). The contribution of each factor identified in the total variance, was 31.630, 12.785, 7.157, 6.499, respectively. The components of internal consistency with Cronbach's alpha coefficient were equal to 0.932, 0.854, 0.873, 0.711, respectively, which represents an desirable internal consistency of extracted factors. Conclusion: The results of this research indicate that the social skills questionnaire demonstrates desirable characteristics to be used as social skills in primary school students.
