Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to identify and evaluate US economic sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which was done by descriptive-analytical method. The main research question is: What effect has the US economic sanctions had on the Islamic Republic of Iran? The results show that the United States and the European Union have used cooperative mechanisms in the global system in the process of unilateral sanctions against Iran, and in this way, they have created conditions that changes in Iran's behavior patterns to transition from UN Security Council sanctions and unilateral US-EU sanctions are inevitable. However, some analysts on Iran-US issues believe that a comprehensive proposal for the lifting of economic sanctions against Iran is possible. The current realities of international politics indicate that the United States prefers to use tactical models, step-by-step methods, and strategic persuasion processes in dealing with Iran.
