Ali Namdar[1] Dr.Ahmad Bakhshayeshi[2] Dr. Naser Rezaei[3] Abstract In the age of globalization, the factors affecting the authority of countries in the international arena are diverse. Some of these are tangible and some are intangible and are components of soft power. In such a situation, one of the drivers of soft power is the tourism industry. The main question is: What is the role of tourism in raising the authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran? The hypothesis is that, nowadays, due to increased international communication, tourism can play an important role in raising the authority of the countries. This study was carried out to evaluate the status of tourism in Iran, using a descriptive-analytical method to investigate this. Research findings show that this issue has been considered by the decision makers of the system, especially in the last two decades, and has paid serious attention to macro policies, but requires careful policy and support of the private sector.
