Abstract :
The freedom is and has always been one of the basic ideals of the Islamic Revolution. Motahhari has referred to word of freedom, kinds of freedom and its derivatives 144 times in his 32 works of 89 ones. Motahhari identifies freedom as a code of survival of Islam and believes that brilliant papers of Islamic history show that Muslims have given freedom of thought to the nations which occupied by them. He considered indulgence and tolerance as a factor in the emergence and development of Islamic civilization. The Islamic government rejects radical indulgence and tolerance related to liberal democracy; and emphasizes on the comprehensiveness and priority of Islam over other religion; and allows people to express their thoughts freely about political, social and religious issues; and dismiss the inspection of thought by government. In his opinion, there is no contradiction between justice and freedom, but they are inseparable; and the sociability of human being doesn't mean that the social life is instinctive and compulsive. It means that human being could demonstrate their capabilities rationally and voluntarily in their social, contractual and optional life
