Abstract :
Abstract[1] Using of different methods such as biopsy, laparoscopy and trocar methods are necessary for sex detection of sturgeon. In this study, 206 sturgeon including 30 Acipenser persicus, 40 A. nudiventris, 121 Huso huso and 15 Acipenser stellatus 2-7 year - old were studied. Biopsy and histological results showed in A. persicus, 16 were female and 14 were male and in Huso huso, 31 were female and 29 were male, respectively. In laparoscopy method, in farmed A. nudiventris 17 were female, 15 were male and 8 were undetectable and in Huso huso 29 were female, 23 were male and 9 were undetectable. In trocar method in farmed A. stellatus 5 were female, 3 were male and 7 were undetectable. For maturation stages detection in sturgeon, the laparoscopy method was an applicant method because of semi - invasive and inducing lowest stress to fish for detecting males and females at ages upper 2.5 year. Although biopsy method was more invasive, but was more confidence for ages lower than 2.5 year. For adult fish, trocer method was suitable. * Corresponding authors; alihallajian@gmail.com
