Abstract :
Abstract Zabol has an annual mean rainfall less than 100 mm, so construction of cement reservoir pond for agricultural well (200 m2 area and 1.5 m depth) is necessary to make the best use of retail water resources. There are about 2170 agricultural tube wells in Zabol, which among them only 218 wells have cement dual purpose pond. With average fish production of 1/5 tones in dual purpose pond, Zabol has a potential of annual production of 2928 tones. The cultural duration for cold and warm water fishes in good climatic condition in Zabol is about 150 and 210 days, respectively. The average water temperature for cold and warm water fishes is 8 to 18 ºC and 20 to 30 ºC during fish culture, respectively. The total fish mortality in this system was low and about 5 %. The warm and cold water fish production was around 760 and 540 Kg per unit, respectively. The food conversion ratio was calculated about 25-30 for warm water fish and 1.3-1.4 for cold water fish, respectively. For warm water fish, the daily growth and specific growth rate was 4.71 and 1.87, respectively. For cold water fish, the daily growth and specific growth rate was 2.19 and 1.81, respectively. The gained at sale 570 kg and 760 kg profit of fish culture was around 19000000 Rials for warm water fish and 11400000 Rials for cold water fish per culture period. Fish culture in Reservoir pond can proves as cost effective practice for poor farmers in rural area and becomes a good way for protein supplying, increasing the irrigation efficiency, water fertilization and increasing the crop production in these area.
