Abstract :
In this study, epoxy coatings nanocomposite containing different percentages of nanoclay were prepared. corrosion and wear properties by electrochemical test, salt spray and pin on disk and also scanning electron microscopy analysis was investigated. By observing the results of electrochemical tests and salt spray it was found that by increasing nanoclay to 2% wt and prolong the penetration route corrosive agents, corrosion resistance and ability to protect the coatings are improved. On the other hand, the addition of excessive nano-clay particles to the polymer matrix, agglomeration of the particles and thus lead to a considerable decline in corrosion resistance. Also see the results of the pin on disc test represents the same optimized to improve the wear resistance of polymer coatings containing nanoclay. According to the results, while the addition of nanoclay uo to 2 percents increased hardness and wear resistance,The presence of too much particles due to differences in hardness with the polymer and Agglomeration, causing stress concentration at the intersection points between pin and Aggregate mass of particles And facilitates the separation of the coating and decreases in resistance to abrasion of coating
