Validating a Scale for Measuring the Effects of Internet on Family

Abstract :
AbstractThe main aim of this research is to validate a scale for measuring the effects ofinternet on family values. In this survey study, data were collected administering aquestionnaire which included 50 items in likert scale. The sample included 384students of Islamic Azad University Roudehen branch randomly selected usingstratified and simple random sampling method. SPSS software was implemented toanalyze the descriptive and inferential statistics. Alpha coefficient for variable wascalculated to be 0.90 at first but it turned to be 0.95 deleting item 16. Principalcomponent analysis was done using Varimax rotation to receive 7 factors including:sincere atmosphere, sensational relationship and group discussion, acceptance rate ininternet, parents’ awareness of their children’s using computer, internet addiction,family values, and satisfaction of being anonymous.
