Abstract :
This study aimed at investigating the role of creativity on employee's tendency to organizational innovation at Birjand University. Research method was Descriptive and correlational with structural equation modeling type. The population of the study, all staff /support staff of the University of Birjand included 414 people. Using stratified sampling with proportional allocation formula of Cochran sampling, the sample size was set as 162. Creativity questionnaire with reliability of 0/89 and tendency to organizational innovation questionnaire with reliability of 0/91 are used for data collection. Data was analyzed based on questions and using confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, stepwise regression, and the mean of the variables and their components and structural equation modeling. Results showed that employee's creativity in %39.5 of cases almost desirable and 60/5 percent was unfavorable. Tendency to organizational innovation was in the 6/8 percent of cases favorable, 69/1 percent almost desirable, and in 24/1 percent were unfavorable. Correlation analysis also showed that creativity and tendency to organizational innovation with its components had a positive and significant relationship. Complexity, desire to know, and dealing with reality, as components of creativity, had multiple correlation with tendency to organizational innovation and %38 of their changes are anticipated. Structural equation modeling showed creativity with the path coefficient (γ=0/77) influencing on tendency to organizational innovation.
