The Explanation of the Noble Life and Death of the Organizations through Phoenix Metaphor Approach (Case Study: Educational Organizations)

Abstract :
Background: Although the organizations play an important role in our modern world, and their presence affects every aspect of our current social life, the existence of an organization is essential when the society needs it, and its absence is crucially felt if it is eliminated. Purpose: This paper attempts to explain the concept of noble life and death of organizations as a fortune to consume and to allocate resources optimally, to decrease inefficiency costs, profusion, and the decline of outdated methods.Method: This research is exploratory in method (including reading texts, exploratory interviews and complementary method), it applies content analysis and for extending the subject realism, storytelling method is used.Findings: In this regard, Phoenix metaphor approach is used for understanding the organizational behavior in confronting death or planned death. Also its relative capability for explaining the behavioral and structural aspects of organization is evaluated.Conclusion: The results of the research show that green organizations contrariwise immortal organizations chose noble death after the end of mission so that the other organizations have a better life. The organizational designers should have such an exact planning for mortal organizations such as Literacy Movement that they resign to noble death after the end of their mission. Accordingly they can affect Iranian social life in a stable way or a new form.
