Abstract :
Kashf al-Asrār va Oddato al Abrār (The Unveiling of the Secrets), written by Rashid al-Din Maybodi in 525 AH, is the first systematic commentary on Qurān in Persian language. Each chapter of this book contains three different levels: Level 1: Persian translation of Qurān. Level 2: Common and exoteric commentary, covering major gramma-tical, historical, ethical, and juridical matters. Level 3: Mystical commentary, including sayings, poetry and stories of the Sufi masters. This article reviews only level 3 and tries to examine the figures of speech – rhyming, antistasis, decorum, and antithesis – by showing the samples from the book.
