Abstract :

Among the many topics that are discussed in the category of Persian literature, the social issues of society are also considered as one of the main important parts of Persian literature, and works have been written in this field. In many cases, the reflection of the conditions, demands and social conditions of a period is clearly evident in the poems of a poet or the work of an author, and in order to understand the society of that era, it is necessary to explain and interpret the poems and writings and their social meanings, in this way, the link between sociology and Literature is revealed.Rumi's Masnavi is one of the works that has been studied under different headings from a sociological point of view. In Rumi's poems, many realities of social conditions, customs, habits and traditions of the society are reflected, which depict the life and realities of the poet's lifetime. The purpose of this research is to show one of the various social aspects of Masnavi and its compatibility with the sociological theories of Georg Simmel.In the current research, which has been used to analyze information using the content analysis method, after examining the works of Rumi, his sociological thoughts are analyzed with one of the important theories of Western sociologist Simmel, under the title "Religion and Religiosity". Matched.The analyzes carried out show that Rumi's anti-worldly and mystical view of abandoning ties and worldliness and his recommendations about religion and religiosity are compatible with Georg Simmel's theory of religion.
