Explaining the Role of Security Components in the Level of Social Hope and Development of Tehran Citizens

Abstract :

Objective: Social hope, as a cognitive state as well as a feeling, affects a person's confidence, social performance, and expectation of a good life. On the other hand, security feeling has an important role in creating and strengthening social hope. This research aims to explain the role of security components in the level of social hope directly and also mediate the role of social trust among Tehran citizens.

Methods: The structural equation modeling method was used to analyze the data of Tehran citizens and according to Cochran's formula, 400 people were randomly selected as a sample. The measurement tools include a questionnaire with 40 items (variables of military security, 7 items, social security, 6 items, life security, 6 items, economic security, 9 items, social trust, 6 items, and social hope, 6 items) and a five-point Likert scale, which has content validity and its reliability was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha coefficient (0.860).

Findings: The effect of "military security", "social security", "life security" and "economics" on positive social hope is investigated. On the other hand, the effects of these variables are investigated by the mediating role of social trust on social hope, and therefore, social trust improves the relationship between the components of security and social hope.

Conclusion: Security can improve the hope of the individual and society and also their future hope. By increasing the sense of security, people show their best and their personal and social development, and also, their social hope will be progressed.
