Abstract :
In order to decrease internalized symptoms based on Coping Cat therapy program (kendall,1994), an experimental pretest and post-test with control group design was conducted. Sample group consisted of 80 (40 females and 40 males) third through fifth grades primary school students who were diagnosed to have internalized disorders based on Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) of Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment (ASEBA; Achenbach and Rescorla, 2001). The participants randomly assigned to two equally experimental and control groups. The experimental group received 16 individual therapy sessions. The post-test means of groups were compared by covariance and chart analyses. The results indicated that internalized symptoms significantly decreased, over 30% of participants passed from clinical to normal spectrum, and the Coping Cat program was effective in Iranian culture.
